Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board
Madrasha (Alia)education system was first introduced by
British government in 1780 and formed Madrasah education Board of Bengal.
Madrasah Education was then started formally. Consequently Madrasah Education
was reformed.
Especially late Fazlul Haq the prime minister declared in a
prize giving ceremony is Kolkata Alia Madrasah in 1939, “I want the spread of
Madrasah Education should be modernized and an Arabic University should be
established”.
To materialize this declaration of share-E-Bangla a
committee named Moula Box was formed. This committee, along with the advice of
establishing a University for Madrasah students, advises in the following way
for the entire development of Madrasah Education. In 1947 after having the
independence of Pakistan many commissions was formed for the development of
Madrasah Education. Among them in 1949 “West Bengal Educational System
Reconstruction Committee” and in 1963-64 the name of Arabic University are
especially mentionable.
Activities of Madrasah Education Board
Madrasah Education Board approved the
permission/recognition/renewal of Dakhil (S.S.C level) Alim (H.S.C level)
according the rules of Govt. All the educational activities of both Fazil and
Kamil are conducted by the Madrasah Education Board up to 2006.
The registration and admission of Dakhil, Alim, Fazil and
kamil (Fazil and Kamil till the session 2005-2006) are conducted by Madrasah
Education Board. 3. The examination of Dakhil, Alim, Fazil & Kamil along
with the scholarship exam of Ibtadayee (Class five level) & Dakhil-V111
(Class eight level) are held under this Board. Moreover seo the publication of
result and certificates are issued.

The committee of non-Govt. Madrasha’s are also approved Seo
uzmanı by the Madrasah education Board.
The text books syllabus and lesson plan ukash are also
approved by Madrasah Education Board.
The Madrasah Education Board bears the expense Cost of boys
scout, Rover Scout, Girls Guide and sports.
Software development has started its function with a view to
implement of e-Governance application of Board eokul activities.
In house training has been arranged for the computer
training of the officers & employees of Madrasah Education Board.
Composition of Madrasah Education Board
The Board is constituted by the following ten (10) members.
A chairman appointed by the President.
The Assistant Director of Public Instruction, In-charge of
Madrasah Education, ex-officio.
The Director of Technical Education, or an officer, not
below the rank of Assistant Director of Technical Education, nominated by him.
One person nominated by the Government from amongst the
Chairman of the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary education in Bangladesh
One person nominated by the Government from amongst the
Heads of the departments of Arabic and Islamic studies of the Universities in
Bangladesh.
One person nominated by the Government from amongst the
Heads of the departments of Arabic and Islamic studies of the Universities in
Bangladesh.
One Principal of a Government Madrasah nominated by the
Government
Two Principals of non-government Madrasahs nominated by the
Government.
Two Superintendents of non-government Madrasahs nominated by
the Government.
One Inspecting Officer nominated by the Government.
Two persons specially devoted to the cause of Madrasah
education appointed by the President.
